Note:    Course fees do not include PADI FEES: IDC registration fee of $105 payable directly to PADI, or books, materials and accommodations and Instructor Exam fee of $485. These fees will be collected at the beginning of the IDC.* Course fee also does not include books and materials. See list.

The course fee does include the required pre-requisite E-learning segment.

The Instructor Development Course (IDC) is a program that prepares qualified PADI Divemasters and Assistant Instructors to become PADI Instructors. It also prepares you for the two day Instructor Exam (IE), which is usually conducted immediately after the IDC. The IDC is an intensive 8-day program involving classroom, confined water and open water training. Qualified Assistant Instructors from other training agencies will be able to take the shorter Open Water Scuba Instructor Course (OWSI)

The Dive Experience Instructor Course takes place in Christiansted, St. Coix, the largest and most beautiful of the United States Virgin Islands. The classroom and confined water segments of the class take place a short distance from town, and the open water segments take place in the blue Caribbean sea. St. Croix has some spectacular diving with walls, reefs, and wrecks. It is a great place to dive and a great place to complete instructor training. The water temperature averages 81 degrees all year round.

dive instructor course Our instructor programs are small, allowing plenty of time for individual attention for allcandidates. Tanks and weights are included in the course fee for the IDC and IE.

Your Course Director is Barbara DeClerque. Barbara started teaching divers in 1984 and became a PADI Course Director in 1995. Since then she has trained more than 150 PADI Instructors and certified more than 200 specialty instructors in Florida and the Caribbean. She has been Dive Experience's Course Director since 2000.
